Wildflowers gone Wild – Grand Mesa, Colorado. August 2014

Posted by: dave c at 21:35, November 12 2014.

In early August we spent an enjoyable weekend camping and hiking with friends on Grand Mesa, Colorado. Most of my prior visits to the Mesa have been in the winter to take advantage of the abundant snow and excellent cross-country ski trails, so it was a treat to see the Mesa in a very different season.

The wildflowers were some of the most spectacular I’ve seen in Colorado, showing an amazing profusion of color. We hiked the Crag Crest Trail, offering spectacular views of the lakes and faraway Canyon Country. We were also treated to a fine sunset at Lands End.
