Climbing and Trekking in the Andes

Over the past 30 years I’ve made a dozen trips to the Andes of South America. Mainly climbing the spectacular peaks of Peru, Bolivia and Argentina. In 2018 and 2019 we explored Patagonia. Those adventures are documented in previous posts. Here are some video slideshows of the climbing trips (I hope to add commentary in the future). The first video is from Peru, the second my Bolivia trips and the third is our successful climb of the Polish Direct route on Aconcagua.

Climb of the Polish Direct Route on Aconcagua

Note on the Aconcagua Slideshow: The show starts with pics. from a climb of Polar Circus, a famous ice climb along the Ice Fields Parkway in Canada. On that climb, 10 days before we were due to leave for Aconcagua, I suffered minor frostbite on both feet. It almost ended the trip to Aconcagua before it started. With new, super-warm boots I decided to go ahead with the trip and carefully managed the health of my feet throughout the expedition.

Wow, great job putting this together. You sure have done a lot of memorable peaks. I was happy to share a few of them with you. Thanks for the memories. This gives me enthusiasm for doing those cascade volcanoes next week!
